PPM is the proteomics facility of Montpellier and is housed at four sites (Institut de Génomique Fonctionnelle, Institut de Recherche en Cancérologie de Montpellier, Institut des Sciences des Plantes de Montpellier, and Institut de Médecine Régénérative et de BioThérapie). Our services are based on the most advanced techniques and approaches in proteomics.

Application Portfolio:

  • Protein identification and quantification by mass spectrometry in different samples and for different applications (g., oncology, neurobiology, parasitology, agronomy),
  • Large-scale studies by mass spectrometry,
  • Targeted quantification (MRM, PRM),
  • Analysis of post-translational modifications,
  • Interactomics (protein-protein and protein-small molecule interactions) using affinity purification mass spectrometry (AP-MS) approaches and surface plasmon resonance (SPR),
  • Protein structure analysis (topology and dynamics of protein complex),
  • Characterization and validation of biomarkers,
  • Protein assay (immunoassay),
  • Detection and quantification of RNA modifications by mass spectrometry,
  • Bio-informatics and statistical analysis of associated data

Main expertise/Services :

PPM uses all types of high and medium throughput proteomic approaches. Our expertise covers most of the current technologies in proteomics and also quantitative metabolic approaches (SILAC) or without labelling.

We offer a complete range of services, including:

  • Preparation of biological samples for mass spectrometry analyses,
  • Identification and quantification of proteins by mass spectrometry/analysis of molecular interactions by SPR,
  • Characterization and validation of biomarkers,
  • Protein structure analysis,
  • Detection and quantification of RNA modifications by mass spectrometry,
  • The associated bio-informatics and statistical analyses,
  • Training and advice to users.

Access and service policy:

PPM performs proteomic analyses in the framework of a service, or as scientific collaborations. Projects are selected exclusively on the basis of their technical feasibility and the presence of adequate funding for the requested analyses.

Samples are prepared by the facility staff or by the user (using the protocols given by the facility). Our services are fee-based.

PPM has the IBiSA label and the ISO 9001 certification. PPM is part of the Proteomics French Infrastructure ProFI.
